Rodney Scott BBQ is legit

Random question about Rodney Scott… What’s up with the sauce? My wife and I got the sampler type plate at the Birmingham location. I felt like the ribs and brisket were amazing to the point that I ate so much that I experienced meat sweats for the first time, but thought the sauces were hot garbage.

It was strange. Elite meats though.

eta: to OP, Hall’s is consistently ranked in the top 5 of steakhouses in America. Wally Hall is really cool too. It was our anniversary and he obviously does it for a lot of customers, but he personally brought champagne to our table, made sure he took our picture at the table, and chatted us up while we waited on the cab. He went to MSU and he gave my wife a little shite about Ole Miss. Was happy to take another picture with us when we were leaving too. The guy knows how to make a lasting impression.

I was indifferent to the sauce. Sort of a letdown; I agree. I do prefer a Carolina style vinegar based sauce; but, Rodney’s isn’t the best example. I actually did both Rodney’s and Lewis at same time. Ordered one of everything from both with a few friends. Was a great time…

Thank you. I’m actually trying to decide between Hall’s and Revival for Friday evening.
