1. Given the gravity of the importance of the game that he will have a “closed door” (also known as behind the scenes) talk to SEC officials (paraphrasing here) so there’s no foul ups. Again, because of the importance of the game.

Then you go a step further and say

Making it sound like he always does prior to every game versus Alabama.

Not just every game period. Which is now what you meant (by your own admission).
