Complimentary running back tandems is all the rage league wide for a few seasons now. The 30 tote trucks are going into Eddie George extinction.
Thus, I vote yea. Starting caliber, just a very specific caliber not an all purpose carry the team on my back role.

Obviously, but Deuce's power style is different than Pierre Thomas'. Just because Pierre runs harder than Reggie doesn't mean he is a power runner. If Deuce had some holes to run through, he would still be hurting DB's and LB's and his YPC would improve dramatically.

maybe, but he is not better. And that was the question.

IF Deuce's numbers would go up with a better OFF line, than so would Thomas. There would still be a marginal difference.

Deuce's longest carry is 13 yards. He is pretty much done.

No.

Back up, tandem, special teams player a la Stecker. And I'm a big Stecker fan so don't bash too quickly.

Deuce is still the best RB on our team. Give him a line that can punish Dlines and he would have been extremely effective this year. DBs and LBS are still afraid to tackle Deuce.

I sure hope is starting caliber since deuce is done for the season, maybe forever.

This goes for anyone who says PT isn't an NFL caliber RB.

Why?

What has he shown that makes you think that?

Was it the 100 receiving and 100 rushing against the Bulls in his 1 start last year?

Or was it his 2 straight games of over 100 yards of total offense in his 2 starts this year?

No, but the Bears game I saw him do that in was fantastic! PT is the man. Everyone should get used to it.

LOL at me saying the Bulls.

Unfortunately, that part is probably not true. We need to get used to PT getting a few reps per game while Reggie gets the rest, and the offense magically does better with Thomas in there, like this past Sunday.

I guess Jason David is all world then because he intercepted Aaron Rogers twice in one game.

PT was fresh at the end of last year because he hadn't carried the ball that year and the Bears were beat up, with out Mike Brown and out of the playoffs.

If PT is a starting caliber NFL running back, it is at the low end of the spectrum imho. He's no Deuce, LT, AP or Portis. He's no Addia, Ronnie Brown or Matt Forte. He's no Thomas Jones, Marshawn Lynch or Earnest Graham. Maybe, Maybe, Maybe he's a Ladell Betts, Antonio Pittman or Maurice Morris, but we haven't even seen him that much yet.

From what we've seen so far he CAN carry the load. But SP doesn't give a LOAD to anyone...except Brees' arm.

He is starting caliber, if he had gone to LSU and had been drafted everyone would be calling for him to start. Just because he went undrafted people are hesitant.
