I had a long couple posts on this in one of Scuba's threads from last weekend.

Here is the exchange:

quote:

But if no one emerges at second base, is there an outfielder that could potentially move there, similar to Dugas last year? Especially considering how deep we are in the outfield.

my response: We have a ton of guys there already, but if it gets past all of them I think Neal would be the next option and Kling after that. Granted, that’s like 7th or 8th options at that point so don’t take it as me saying they will play there.

Further clarification to another poster:
Braswell seems to be the leader in the clubhouse for SS.

Guidry, Milam, Nippolt, Kucherak, Roellig, Thompson would be in line for 2B. The only way Neal and Kling enter the picture is if none of those 6 guys prove they're ready to hit pitching at this level. I'd think Nippolt is the fall back option after Guidry and Milam, based on commentary about Roellig and Kucherak still needing some physical development.

But I think some of it may hinge on Ruddell, Larson, Jones, Frey, Travinski, and Milazzo. If they're forcing themselves into the line up, it means you don't have to play Neal at catcher or Kling in the OF.

Someone proving they can hit at this level will jump the line in front of guys already at the position that aren't physically ready or mentally ready.

This also assumes that Guidry continues to have an outsized impact on the mound.
