Neither will leave you stranded or kill your wife. Depending on which motor mount it is, both should be fairly easy to change also. I imagine there are plenty of videos on youtube that will walk you through step by step, how to do both.

I have not noticed anything wrong with how the car drives or shifting whatsoever. Makes the same noises its always made. Sounds like a strut may be loose when you drive down uptown streets, but everything makes noise driving down some of these streets. We brought the car in today because the starter seemed to be going out. Today is when they noticed these issues. A week ago, the car was in the shop for an oil change and they also replaced the purge valve (under recall). Nothing was said at that time about these issues.

If someone pays for their oil to be changed, is paying for someone to put on a starter, and is asking basic questions about bushings and engine mounts, I wouldn’t suggest that he take on changing the engine mount himself.
