TSA agents are usually full of shite and don't care about the rules.
I had a instance in Omaha where this young woman wanted to show me her authority with a flashlight I had.
It had been through no less than 6 other airports but she claimed that the flashlight was a "tactical" flashlight with a glass break on it (it didn't). It was a nice Nitecore flashlight but nothing about it tactical.
I asked her if she thought a glass breaker on a flashlight worked on a plexiglass window. She didn't think that was too funny.
Then I asked if she thought I could get the emergency doors opens faster or the flashlight through a plexigalss window.
I almost got arrested that day.
