IMO, I Think a new DC would help, but this new DC should start by teaching our players how to wrap up players and tackle them. Bama & Arky game would have been diffrent if we don't give up many 3rd and short. (i know about the pick 6's) but just sayin!

Yeah it would definitely help if our defenders didn't let people drag them 15 yards while they're trying to rip the ball out instead of tackling.

Whiskey,

Ignore the negatiers...you're right, btw. Poor tackling can be seen in every game starting with Florda through the Hogs. Go back through those (taped) games and you can see where, bitz after blitz, we get a hand on somebody only to have him slip through for some yards. The new DC is going to have to reteach our kids how to hit and make it stick.

A novel concept which our Saban defenses embraced.

Isn't this tackling thing taught when the kids are seven years old? Why does a college athlete need to be "taught" how to tackle? Really.

Welcome to the site, please ignore the ignorant, stupid people ( who are few) that use this site. If I am not interested in something I simply do not respond. Those two comments were simply rude.

Sometimes, rarely with proper technique.

The great coaches of the world aren't coaching Pop Warner.

Ball room dancing maybe a good exercise because they would learn to wrap their arms around someone.

Thanks! Towelie. That was my point! Just need to let these players know that tackling is just (if not more) important then going for the ball to force a fumble. What are the odds (out of 10 rushes, pulling the ball out for a forced fumble) not many I would think. To me STOP the player first!
