Their only links to those regions in 1908 are wins over non-majors (Drury and St Mary (KS)), a tie with non-major Creighton, and losses to Nebraska and non-major Washburn. None of those ties would establish LSU on an even playing field with the top teams in the Midwest and Northeast. In other years it would have been a substantial victory. That year it was not.
