If “by awhile”, you mean 2 years from now, then, yeah. Whether it goes to 1 permanent opponent in a. 8-game schedule or 3 permanent opponents in a 9-game schedule, LSU will probably play non-permanent opponents every other year. Twice every four years, 1 home and 1 away.

Believe it or not, kids, LSU and Auburn only started playing annually in 1992. LSU and Auburn didn’t play each other between 1942 and 1969, and only played each other four times between 1974 and 1991.

Yep. I mentioned it an an SECRant post, but after playing Auburn this weekend we will be tied in the amount of times we have played them and Kentucky (58).

Auburn played most of their games against teams that are now in the east. We typically played teams that are now in the west (other than Auburn and Arky - who wasn’t here). We also typically played Florida and Kentucky every year.

I would argue that the LSU-Auburn series since 2000 or so has produced the most exciting games in that time span.

believe it or not I’m plenty old enough to have been going to games since before the ‘92 expansion.

and the Auburn series is now one of the great ones.
it needs to be played every year.

eliminating this series on an annual basis is not “progress”
