FTR, the US has long been a refined products exporter.
We do not consume 75% of products from our refineries here.
Major refiners depend on the export market.
Valero's refinery in Meraux (Chalmette) was reconfigured with a condensate splitter added to enable it to use Eagle Ford crude, and a hydrocracker added to produce more diesel than previously. Valero bought and reconfigured it with the European market in mind.

Great, start another OP thread on this topic if you like, but this literally has nothing to do with the OP which focuses on crude oil in literally every paragraph of said OP.
