If grounding and regular beatings aren’t working, your remaining options are military boarding school, or just drive him to another state, pull over the car, and say ‘Get out’.

Can 15 year olds drive legally in your state? How was he going to get to the prom?

If this was addressed above and I missed it, I apologize.
BUT what about the legal ramifications of his serving alcohol to minors in your home? Anyone killed DUI on the way home and you and your son could have lost your home to law suits.
Kid may still think it was cool. The alcohol bit should have him grounded for months IMO.
How did parents of the other kids take it? Did you check for photos on line? They are probably there.

I think the party was far, far worse and irresponsible and dangerous and coming from a kid just off of a mild suspension.

And, no, you can't get him off by pleading "affluenza"
