Second half seemed way better, guys figuring it out, playing harder and smarter.

Call me crazy but if we can keep getting better on defense, maybe the Ole Miss game was the low point and it's upwards and onwards from here. we still have a chance to win the west.

I think you are correct. The defense turned a new leaf and that pick 6 will continue the momentum in a positive direction.

It’s nice to see some positive comments. These are young men who chose LSU and I will route for them day in and day out!!! This D will stuff Auburn! Geaux Tigers!

We were up on the line of scrimmage and pressuring the QB, Smith & Perkins were moved around and made impact plays, and we got third down stops and turned them over.

If we could just get off the field on third down even once per quarter we'd be hard to keep up with.

The defense played mostly cover 2 the second half. They completely switched up at the half. It’s not something they’re know for, so it made it that much more impressive of an adjustment with players that have trouble grasping any defensive concept. The coaches, unlike many fans, haven’t given up.

That pick 6 was huge. On top of momentum, I think it helps with confidence and physicality.

Even at the beginning of the game they were at least playing with some fire and swarming to the ball (at least, compared to last week). Problem is they still got beat left and right in the first half. According to Kelly’s postgame presser we used more man in the first half and then switched to more zone in the second half. TIFWIW.

My concern was that all of that energy they had to start the game would disappear after Mizzou started going up and down the field. To the D’s credit, they kept fighting and made plays when we needed them the most. And yeah - they were better in the second half.

I do think they will continue to get better as the year goes on. The problem is, so will the remaining offenses we have to face (most notably Bama and aTm).
