The Advocate- His swollen left hand was wrapped in tape. His ribs, the ones that made him briefly leave in the fourth quarter, still felt sore. There was a scrape on Daniels’ neck a small cut on his right cheek and tape that covered part of his forearm.

“Little movements hurt here and there,” Daniels said “but I wasn’t going to come out the game.”

Daniels took a beating Saturday inside Memorial Stadium…no23 LSU could not afford to lose against no21 Missouri .The worst hit came when he (Daniels) thought that he had scored to retake the lead early in the fourth quarter.

Daniels was standing in the end zone and got crushed from behind, a penalty the officials missed. Daniels tried to throw during video review, then went to the injury tent.

LSU missed a chance to score in the
red zone, Daniels took some medicine and had Icy Hot rubbed on his side. Then, he returned and led the team to a 49-39 comeback win after LSU trailed at multiple points in the fourth quarter.

TTT - “He should be one of the Heisman finalists” Penn said. “That’s what I think.” He should have a defense that plays like they want him to win it, that’s what LSU fans think.

He didn’t want to come out and it looked like he was trying to get BK to call a timeout so he wouldn’t miss a snap. Then they couldn’t get him in the tent at first because he refused to go. So they were looking at him on the sidelines. The trainers were blocking his view of the plays so he made them reposition so he could see.

He’s a tough SOB and he’s all about the team. It’s great to see him do so well.

LSU fans are blessed to have witnessed two of the best quarterbacks in LSU history play within 6 years apart. Remarkable considering how much fans complained about that position on the team.
