That space looks too cold and uninviting. It looks like something HGTV sells as modern, which you would need to have remodeled in ten years because it will in short time feel so dated. The furniture looks like it is from Target. There is nothing classic or warm about that place, and the computer driving range video game screams nouveau riche. The only feature that is nice is the reading room, which has nice bookshelves. The fixtures, windows, moulding and cornices, just about everything in there was a poor design choice.

I agree with your assessment of the design. It's soulless. But I am a sucker for a golf simulator. If that's tacky, I'm ok with that.
