re: Since bears have been in the news lately. Have you ever seen one

When I was a kid in the early 70's we had them in our yard pretty regularly in Dawson County, Georgia. Bastards loved to eat out of the garbage cans.
I have seen a few in NC and in Tennessee and several in Florida.
All of these were of course black bears and most were smallish. None were very big at all. I have seen 2 Grizzlies in BC. Completely different critter LOL. Both of those were from the cab of my truck and they were hauling arse away from me...and they still made me pretty nervous. The black bears I have encountered were more akin to big raccoons.
