Your son is obviously very talented, and I know it’s not just your opinion, as national evaluators have him ranked really high, as well.
In fact, there’s probably a decent chance he will be mentioned on the Rant in the next few years in game day conversations, even if most people aren’t aware of his connection.
Hell, I don’t think most people knew of Lache Seastrunk or Kristian Fulton’s rant connections, lol.
Still, I don’t see what is so egregious about asking a player to play left wing instead of central midfield, even if it isn’t the ideal position change.
I had a friend who had multiple mid level D-1 offers and he played out of position in high school, playing central mid because it’s kind of like playing as a run first QB, where many of the best players go.
There was also a guy who played in the youth team of a prominent Brazilian team until he was 14, when he realized he wasn’t going to ever make it at that level. He also played out of position.
These were great players, and they didn’t consider it a big deal.
