I'd strongly urge the OP to get the 26" if he's planning to smoke full packer briskets.
I have the 22 and 26 and the bigger size is so much easier to deal with a big brisket. also can get more ribs on at the same time.
if just doing smaller cooks like a pork butt or brisket flat, 22 is perfect.

You can spend a lot or little..
I have a few Traegers … cause I got lazy and empty nester..
But back when I wanted to hang in the yard with friends.. drink beer and smoke food there is no reason to spend more than you would at tractor supply and get a chargriller with gas.. charcoal.. and offset..
I used it a lot for ten years and left it in working condition when I sold my house and moved
