Update from Wilkinson County (Woodville area) on our plans

Seeds have been purchased and picked up.

Using 60 gal 3 point PTO boomless sprayer to kill the standing vegetation this week. Plan on planting at the end of the month, first week of November or after solid rain. Whichever comes first.

Northern Claiborne Co still dry as a bone. We got trace moisture Thursday but not enough to make any difference. However having 120 acres to get planted and the chance of tropical moisture in the forecast I rolled the dice and drilled about 40 acres in our fields along the Big Black as they tend to stay wet longer with less rain. Hopefully it works, waiting on more consistent rain fall going forward but potentially will drill some more this week/weekend.
