Living in N.O. for all but 2 years of my 70, I've ridden on all the ferries that crossed the Miss. River in this area from the one that leaves English Turn to the one that use to be in Luling.
The one I used the most was the Chalmette Ferry to go back and forth across the river. Sure beat driving through town to get to the bridge downtown.

The Belle Chasse-Braithwaite/Poydras ferry is still running as is the Pointe-a-la-Hache ferry.
