And how the hell do regular people (nurses, CNAs, secretaries, etc) afford to live in Oxford?
I lived out in the county, about 10 minutes NE of the Square off Highway 30. Tons of undeveloped land all around to be had for not a lot of money.
I enjoy Oxford more in the spring over football season.
And I enjoy visiting now than I ever did living there.
Was there for 6 years for work, not school.

Parking is awful. Restaurant lines are awful. I can see how residents just hunker down and hide.
Some of the parents own multiple air bnbs and it sort of pisses me off (but I get free enterprise) as students could be living there — there’s not enough housing for students and I understand that the state required ACT for admission is like 17? That’s pitiful .. even Louisiana required I think a 21 for four year college admission.
All that said, seriously loved oxford for our student .. and we’re LSU alums. It’s safer than BR for sure. Roommate situation currently is awesome but if she wants to stay there really long term, idk what she’ll do housing wise.
It’s like a Mayberry with a splash of Stepford Housewives .. there were many moms we met who weren’t my vibe at all but thank goodness many were.
Edit to add: Geaux Tigers!! Beat Ole Miss!!
