I’m in AR but we have a few places that’ll do what they call “infield mix”. Basically masonry sand mixed with topsoil.
I like 70/30 sand to soil ratio. Levels well but has more nutrients and stays in place better than just sand.

This is what I’ve been using lately and it’s been great. Guy initially told me “river silt” but then mentioned it’s man made, not actual river pump sand.
