It's definitely one of the things you notice. I lived in North Carolina for four years, and that state is much cleaner by comparison. But still, it's not home.

I've driven behind a sophisticated member of our population that shoved a complete large bag of popeye's followed by 4 drinks and the drink holder out of their window. When you have an inconsiderate segment of people that think they are entitled to everything, why would they give a shite about petty laws that cops do absolutely nothing about.

It isn’t unique to Louisiana. Florida is covered thanks to all the undesirables drifting in.

All the downvotes must be from people who bought some condo in Trashville, FL and are having a some trouble with cognitive dissonance.

Hate litter bugs. The following does NOT excuse that behavior, as I'm sure they would still do it.... But.

There needs to be a bigger push for more open to the public landfills. I live in a poor parish and there is not one. My parents live in a parish that has one, but they also perform an inquisition (kinda kidding) about what you are bringing in. So, as someone who has to make plans to drive large items another parish over (and have my dad come with to show his proof of residence) or pay money to drop it off closer, I can see how some people just chunk their crap in the ditch. We've made disposing of those items a huge PIA. I think you'd see at least a noticeable drop in litter if fines were actually enforced AND their was a more convinient way to legally dispose of large items.

The front of the Student Union has been completely trashed after the last 2 games.
Had to walk through garbage on the way back to our vehicle.

Passed by there earlier on the way to the stadium prior to the game, and the very large crowd looked to be predominantly white high school kids.

I love when the workers bag up the litter then leave bags on the shoulder until someone hits them spreading the litter

The simple answer is demographics. There’s way more people that don’t give a damn than people that do give a damn.

Also on top of that, the state doesn’t allocate the right funds to keep up.
