He actually had a lot of O&G support prior to this. Remember his "Drilling=Jobs" sign? He basically did a 180 after getting his contributions from the International Seafarer Union and some contractors. He even co sponsored the bill with liberal Elijah Cummings.

One workboat company is his biggest supporter. Shane Guidry and Harvey Gulf. They’ve been on the political scene since the 80’s- 90’s.
