Update: The #Panthers can't use the 'QB sneak' play in their playbook because Bryce Young "Isn't big enough to make that work.", according to ESPN.

In an article on ESPN, it says that the: "Biggest hole in the game plan" for the #Panthers is their inability to use the 'QB Sneak' in 3rd-and-short because of Bryce Young's 5-10, 204 pound frame.

"The Panthers can't use the quarterback sneak because Young (5-foot-10, 204 pounds) just isn't big enough to make that work."

ESPN

the full paragraph on the topic from the ESPN link

Biggest hole in the game plan: What to do on third-and-short. The Panthers can't use the quarterback sneak because Young (5-foot-10, 204 pounds) just isn't big enough to make that work. Plus, he doesn't have experience at it. So Carolina had to bring in backup quarterback Andy Dalton on those plays. The first time there was a false start. The second time Dalton pitched to running back Miles Sanders for a first down. But this could be an issue moving forward.

Brees was 6 foot.

I didn't realize Young was that short.

Brees listed at 6'0" 209 lbs

That doesn't seem like a difference in size to go from one of the best sneak guys there's been to you can't even use one

204 seems generous, Young looks lighter than that.

Young was 204 for the 60 seconds he was on the scale at the combine. He wasn't that big at Bama and he ain't now.

Right. Brees worked on going over and extended the ball rather than pushing the pile.

Payton never really snuck with Drew. We did the Drew Brees special.

If you told me Brees had a 400-500 lb squat I wouldn’t bat an eye. Dude was/is strong

Young is slight and short. Kyler is short but has some mass. I think that’s the major difference.

Yeah he's noticeably bigger than Young. Especially in the lower body.

100%. Peak Drew was a tank and really athletic. Probably just as athletic as Young.

Young is way closer to like 175-180 than whatever his listed weight is.

Drew is NOT 6 foot. I've met him and that is most definitely an exaggeration, as most heights listed are. Young may actually be more like 5 "9.

IRL Young is probably 5’8” and 180lbs soaking wet. Dude is nowhere close to 204.

I think it has more to do with him not being able to take snaps under center. Only shotgun
