If he is "released" then that means voluntarily and they wouldn't get anything.

If it went to trial or certain motions are filed to get them out, its possible to get attorney's fees but usually doesn't happen. It can, but generally its all parties own costs.

But the Lyft driver isn't going to pay a dime out of their own pocket, directly.

Driver won't be out of pocket personally for his attorney's fees. Lyft's insurance provider will provide the driver's representation.
