Twice, both times from potential drowning.
First was when I was around 10 and swimming in a motel pool out of state. Little sister jumps in the deep end where I was swimming and she sank like a brick. Mom's freaking out but she couldn't swim either and we were the only ones in the pool. I go down and grab sis by the hair and pull her to the side of the pool so mom can pull her out.
Second time was in my late teens working at a marina. Little kid running back and forth along a wooden pier where the fuel station was. His mom 50 ft. away yelling at him to stop running, but not going to grab him and make him stop. Kid falls in the water that was 8 ft. deep and he too goes down like a stone. Jump in and find him, get him up to the surface and by that time the mom is panicking on the pier because her precious little darling damn near drowned. NOW she was concerned enough to actually do something........
