Meh, leftists or pro-pit owners will attempt to throw out “but guns” as a retort to banning pits. There is a pretty big difference between guns and pits.

A) a gun is an inanimate object, a dog is not.
B) I don’t have to let my gun out for a walk or to go piss. Therefore, the likelihood of my gun getting out of my yard and mauling another human is nonexistent.
C) i don’t take my gun to a gun park to socialize with other guns. There is no risk of my purposefully bred aggression in my gun to turn and kill other guns or gun owners in the gun park.

There is a common trait however, stupid owners of both will inevitably lead to tragedy for passers-by or their own owners.

Not me. I’m pro 2A, and concur with what you say. And can’t argue on the XL Bully, bc no experience with one. But have experience with staffys and pound “pits”, who are usually mutts, not APBT. None were ever aggressive to humans or animals, and, in fact, it wasn’t them a stranger had to be wary of. It was my Pyrenees. That said, I absolutely did not take them to dog parks or let them run loose. Dogs in a pack can and will do pack dog things, especially loose. And not knowing their background, but their breed history in general, why would I set them up for a potential failure? I did not dress them in clothes, either. Owners need to know their breeds and mixes and act accordingly.

Surely you don't support a ban, though.
