Actually they operate off the Mississippi Coast also. Moss Point, MS has as processing facility, smells terribly.
Correct, but MS makes them stay 1 mile offshore and doesn't allow them in close.
Do you still these types of fish kills in MS?

All politicians are garbage. I do not care what party they are. It really is this simple - personal enrichment over what is best for the State. Its at the local level, the state level and the federal level.
I have never owned a camp or boat near the coast. I fish in saltwater maybe 1-2 times a year at most. So I do not have a dog in this fight like some of you do. But between this, the red snapper bullshite, the changes in limits and slot sizes - if this sort of stuff does not hit home just how big a piece of shite any elected official is, nothing will. The unelected bureaucrats are not much better. I don't care if they are your best friend growing up, your cousin or your uncle. I don't care of its the Justice of the Peace for the south end of Plaquemines Parish or the dog catcher for Gross Tete. They are all pieces of shite.

Mississippi is only slightly better than LA in terms of how they handle the pogy boats. They've let them run amok for a long time.

The majority of these boats fishing in Louisiana waters are coming from Mississippi

CCA has been pushing for the legislature to restrict the pogey boats. The head of CCA Louisiana has been one of the main people trying to put a spotlight on the pogey boats whenever people catch them illegally inside the buffer zone or when there's a bunch of dead fish washing up in an area where the pogey boats had been operating.

This is so frustrating because it's so simple. We are the only state in the whole damn country that allows this.

All the money points to the Senator where these plants are located, who is also head of the Senate Natural Resources Committee who keeps vetoing this.

Actually I don’t believe we do. I’m not the most traveled offshore as I normally fish inshore or interior of our barrier islands.

Yes... Happens in MS too.

Just like they were pushing publicly about the gated canals, but their lobbyists and legislators in their pockets, were doing the opposite

They operate in Mississippi too unfortunately

They key is to get national news on this and the big environmental groups (from California).
My old buddies went out with a video camera and videos then catching redfish in the 80s which is what lead to the federal ban. CCA or some group needs to follow them with drone and boats and video them dumping the redfish.
Someone should also sue LDWF on any new redfish limits as being useless without proper enforcement and restrictions on pogy boats. If you can catch them killing sea turtles u cab sue them under endangered sea creature status.

Hensgens and Connick. Two Senators have brought the entire legislature to a halt on this. Although as noted above, Governor-elect Landry is already in their pockets.

Then put together two PACS and go after them. It’s all that works. Even if you don’t beat them bleed them dry. It’s send a big message
