Better? That's a valid question. I think of it like this - will there be less doctors or hospitals than we have today? Probably not....but possibly over time. Will some doctors move to a cash payment method? Probably...but the the costs will be real instead of crazy inflated for this game of charades we play with insurance companies. Even your GP inflates the costs that are submitted to your commercial insurance today.

Will it be cheaper? I think taking medical bankruptcy off the table for everyone is a good thing. Even if you do declare bankruptcy because you got cancer and it killed your entire savings account - those costs end up getting passed on to everyone else. So again, we're back to the costs are already being shared by everyone. The only difference is, we've put this MASSIVE for-profit commercial entity(insurance) between the patient and the medical provider today.

You know what's bullshite? Deductibles. You know what else is bullshite? Prior authorizations for medications. Either you need it or you don't.
