People like me profile everyone on the road. I want to get the hell in front of you because you're doing 47 in a 60, and are likely to randomly brake, for no explicable reason.

And yes, when you ignored the "left land ends" sign, and just act like I'm supposed to slam on my brakes or let you exclaim, "OMG, where did the lane go, where do I go"
sequence, I have no sympathy.

You seem like the dude that will stop an interstate to cut over four lanes to make your exit to the loop. Most of the country isn't the Bronx, you won't get shot if you just hit the next exit and turn around.

Just allow the person in and don’t be an a-hole because of ego. The guy that does it right and accelerates properly to merge in gets blocked by the guy who speeds up to close that gap. Then the guy trying to merge brakes slightly and accelerates again to slip in behind you and the next guy closes the gap. Now he is getting closer to the end because 2 assholes just couldn’t cede a spot and then the 3rd a-hole approaches and says “look at this idiot waiting until the end to merge “ and closes the gap to punish the guy because he has no clue that the 2-3 assholes in front of him were the reason the person he is mad at is pushed to the end of the ramp.

I know there are dumbasses who can and will frick up a merge but my 38 years of driving state and federal highways points to road raging assholes as being the culprit far more than clueless drivers.
