Black Mouth Cur
Smart as hell. Reads your mind. Protective of the family but cues off of the owner. This is the "Ole Yeller" dog of the book. They'll die for you if need be. Or herd your cows or bay hogs or tree squirrels. Don't eat much. Best dog I've ever owned and I've owned a lot of them. You just have to remember this dog is very sensitive to your approval. You hurt his feelings and he'll resent it. Generally happens when you treat them like a dog and not a black mouth cur. You don't have to yell at them. He knows what you're thinking.
