I have a 2019 Sierra with the 5.3 V8 and 8 speed transmission (new body style). It's been an incredible truck and extremely reliable. I can manage 25MPG on the highway with it and just go 11MPG towing my 6500lb boat.
People really over blow the trans issues, they've resolved them and it's been a silky smooth transmission for me.
