Per Woj:
ESPN Sources: New Orleans Pelicans G Trey Murphy III suffered a meniscus injury to his left knee during a workout today and will undergo further testing. It is immediately unclear whether he’ll require surgery.
Seriously, why do the basketball gods hate us?!

Good catch. Saw meniscus and assumed tear. Corrected it.

Aren’t all meniscus injuries tears of some sort? You weren’t technically wrong. The hope is Trey’s injury is a partial tear and not a full tear where recovery might be longer.

A strain is a partial tear. Look it up. Also hoping thats what Murphy has.

LINK
Read that link plus anybody who’s had a similar injury will tell you a strain of the meniscus is a partial tear. I’d like a MD to confirm but this is almost a positive. I’m not sure how much more I can show that but no one strains a meniscus without having some sort of tear even if the tear is relatively minor.
