Will Earl Lane be replaced?

A plus for recruiting from what I hear, but our DL is underperforming. If replaced, who are the best choices?

LSU DL a tremendous dissapointment this year.

He brings a HUGE pipeline in Florida. He can obviously develop DL (see Alem, Dorsey, Francois, etc), but it seems like never can the whole line bring a serious pass rush.

I think those guys made Earl Lane seem better than he is. To my understanding the players dont really consider him a good coach at all.

earl lane is a great recruiter but a sub-par coach.. his arse needs to hit the road

no doubt about it, he needs to go! besides the horrible play calling from the DC's he is the main reason this defense is so bad. The DL has degressed the last two years. There has been no pass rush from the front four in a year and a half, and has trouble stopping the run. I don't care how good our DB's are if we have no pass rush our DB's will have trouble covering WR's, and we don't have great DB's. Lane needs to go! I don't care if he can recuit , if u can't coach it's useless.

Exactly. Do u see the DL class we are putting together this year. I dont think he should be fired at all.

I agree that recruiting is a bit overrated. A coach's first priority is coaching the guys he has, which it is evident he's not very good at. I'd take a better coach and a worse recruiter right now.
