Sounds like OP gets a little pushed around by the women in his life. I have an older sister that isn't shy and saying something like that to either of her brothers wouldn't even cross her mind. Unless one of our wives was very clearly untrustworthy.

Most of this board normalizes this "happy wife, happy life" bullshite. Just STFU and do what makes her happy, etc. No, the men have needs too, we're just confused and typically inarticulate about understanding what is upsetting us.
