I saw JB several times including at Lulu's after the Deepwater Horizon explosion. He was scheduled to have a free beach show but due to a hurricane they postponed it. The bride and I decided to head to Lulu's for supper and he showed up, I was about 5 feet from him when he rolled off the boat, good times they were.

Jimmy had a huge impact on my life.
Seen him perform no less than 12 times.
From the keys to Nola, dude lived it up.
Bob Dylan once remarked Jimmy was one of his fave American songwriters.
Jimmy and Hunter S Thompson spent a year together in the keys after HST’s first divorce, though few stories have come out about their time together (imagine trying to party with them…not for the faint of heart).
Pirate looks at 40 was about a bartender at Sloppy Joe’s.
He went to Paris was about a one armed pianist from Chicago Jimmy met up there.
To this day, when you call my insurance agency, “it’s 5 o’clock somewhere” will play when we put you on hold.
