Did you know that those hills behind him in that picture were once verdant? The trees in Haiti have been cut down for crops, housing, but mostly for fire. Aerial imagery shows the border of Haiti and the Dominican Republic on Hispaniola in stark contrast. Thick canopy tropical forest on one side and denuded hillsides on the other. Why? Another fact ignored by those journalist fellers.
