"The U.S. has backed a United Nations plan for a multinational police force in the country, led by Kenya. That force would focus on combating gang violence, mostly in Port-au-Prince."
Yeah I don't see any African Union countries rushing out right now to save Haiti but that's just me.

I'm guessing the US pays Kenya to go police Haiti because they believe it would be bad PR to have Americans policing Haiti.
