I have a MIM telecaster. What is a good upgrade on the pickups that aren’t too crazy expensive? Thanks

Go ahead and order some of Fretshack's pickups.
I put in one of his P90 sets made to fit in a telecaster a few weeks ago.
They sound extraordinary. Easy swap too. Didn't make any changes to my existing controls. Had to modify the pickguard just a little.
Have you ever seen what rout you have for the neck position pickup?
Some of those have a Humbucker neck rout, even if they have a single coil mounted in the pickguard. If it has the humbucker route, it increases your options.
You can unscrew the guard and peek under there easy.
Here is the website for his pickups:

Thanks for the plug, auggie. My pickups aren't "too crazy expensive," but they cost more than Fender replacements, Duncans, Dimarzios, et al. But I think they are an incredible value for what goes into them. E-mail me directly at info AT thefretshack DOT com to learn more.

In the meantime, here's Carondelet artist Seth LeCoq of Parish County Line demo'ing my standard Carondelet T duet

And here's VInce Gill demo'ing my Carondelet TPA duet at the most recent vintage guitar show in Nashville. These are the pickups Auggie has.
