the issue with kohlers is they are a pain in the arse to work on, and they use plastic gears for the cam. so when something fails in the engine, it grenades the whole engine inside, with briggs its all metal so you take it apart, replace the bad part, and its fixed.

i look at it from the perspective of repairing the engines

i would rate them

1 - kawasaki
2 - honda
3- B&S
