That McDonald's seems to me to have a pretty strong Art Deco influence. It's been bastardized and commoditized, but it's there.

I don't mind Brutalism if it's not too experimental. The "Executive Park" area of DeKalb County, GA was a tasteful example. Most of those buildings have been torn down in the last 10 years. I miss them.

The McDonald’s is definitely Art Deco, it’s just modern Art Deco.

Buildings, art, decoration, all that stuff evolves over time. It starts to look dated, people get used to the same stuff over and over again and get sick of it, and change it up. Beethoven and Chopin don’t make the top 40 on Billboard like they would’ve in the 1700s-1800s. 100 years from now they’ll be saying we should go back to the modernized looking buildings from today.
