Kiffin Impact on LSU

If Kiffin gets the UT job, he will give Saban some recruiting competition for TN/AL players. Which would only help LSU, I think.

But if he's brings in Ed Orgeron as rumored they'd be much more heavily involved in recruiting in Louisiana.

That's a good point, I hadn't thought of that. Crap. I was hoping that UT could challenge Saban and help LSU, since Auburn evidently won't.

LSU needs coach O. I know it won't happen but we could use both his recruiting abilities/tenacity and his intensity on the sideline.

but we don't need his alcoholism, abusive tendancies, rage issues, questionable recruiting techniques, or his idiocy regarding simple X's and O's of football roaming the sidelines.
And yes these things are all true. If we hire O for anything, it better not be anything else but D-Line coach. He is a loose cannon and will only bring trouble to the program.

I have family that lives in Knoxville and goes to every game and they say the fans do not want Kiffin. at all.
I was talking with them and they also feel that Kelly is the guy for the job. They want Davis, but they realize it will not happen.

If they do actually hire Kiffin, it's a depressing sign of how far that job has fallen in prestige.
And all of the Coach O talk is, I believe, horseshite, what with the NFL pension he could be working towards. I'll believe it when I see it.

We don't need Coach O.
We can get a guy like Tracy Rocker to come coach the DL.
If they hire Kiffin, that would be a mistake to have someone with that much youth and inexperience in a league like the SEC. Oh well. That's their problem.

Just like any NFL coach is in his first year back down in college. Look at Callahan's first recruiting class at Nebraska -- you'll be shocked at how good it was.

i think folks are down on kiffin because he was terrible with the raiders and was a co-oc with usc.

Kiffin doesn't concern me at Tennessee. I think he is overrated. I'm not saying that Kiffin isn't a very talented play caller. I would be very concerned about Mike Leach or Brian Kelly at Tennessee. With a top notch coach at Tennessee, the SEC will be impossible. A two loss season would be a good year. If you are looking for a coach at Tennessee to take recruits from Saban, it's only wishful thinking. Saban would just sleep less (30 minutes instead of an hour). Saban is a maniac. We don't need a coach at another SEC school to help against Saban. We need our coaches to bring back the aggressive defense and a little creativity on offense. We have the talent... All we need is the killer instinct back.
