Starting on an electric can encourage bad habits. The main one not being able to actually play guitar.
Acoustic guitars and electric guitars are slightly different animals. But I have never met anyone that could play an acoustic guitar well that could not make an electric guitar sound good, even if that wasn’t their forte. Vice versa…. Not so much.
People that can bang out sex pistols, green day, and nirvana power chords on an electric with two finger power chords…
The opposite does not apply.
Start on an acoustic.
