Eh, there's a handful of things that are going to happen:
1) landowner does nothing, it grows up in whatever comes up (maybe good, maybe bad)
2) landowner gets federal assistance to replant trees
3) land gets converted to some other use (pasture, most likely)
#3 is not as common in that part of the world, but there were alot of areas in the Florida Parishes where people just decided to leave it open and put cows on it after all the trees had to be removed from the hurricane impacts.
