I was a pack a day smoker for 20+ years. About 5 years ago I caught pneumonia and didn't want a cigarette for about 5 days. At that point I decided to try and quit using pneumonia as my jump start. I did use the patches for a couple of months and still to this day chew nicotine gum from to time when stressed.
