I scoured the C40 website and couldn’t find anything mandating that each city in the C40 to meet those goals. Someone link me if I overlooked.

Seems to me that each city within the C40 can opt to join different initiatives put forth by C40. For example, there is an initiative around reducing food waste and food related emissions, but only 16 cities globally are part of it - New Orleans is not one.

Also, the idea of New Orleans achieving any of that is hilarious and will never happen. We are a massive port city, our mayor routinely takes overseas trips, we recently removed bike lanes on the West Bank, and not a chance south Louisiana goes meatless. Federalist is exaggerating C40 to pander to their readers so they have something else (that is ultimately meaningless) to be outraged about.

Yet initiatives you folks claimed were fear mongering are already being put in place in many areas.

Its easy to claim something is symbolic before anything happens.
