Thanks. Looks like my pressure is in range. I did just find out that there a Condenser unit recall for 2018 Subaru Foresters (wife's car). Going to see if I can find if it's eligible tomorrow. I guess either her car didn't have this condenser kit or she ignored the recall notices.

eta: Update from what I found from some more digging. Still need to check the part/lot # on the condenser.

But it seems like a very common problem with this model is too much space in between the clutch plate and the pulley system. So at high speeds/rpms the magnetic force isn't strong enough to engage the compressor clutch. Simple fix by pulling the plate off and removing a shim/spacer.

Trying to exhaust all my options before forking over $ for a compressor replacement. Compressor works fine when the clutch is engaged, so I really don't think it's a compressor issue.

If the clutch is not pulling in, you can replace just the clutch. Did a few years ago, on the wife’s Odyssey
