I get that you may want to repair it but I would encourage you to get one of the newer bows. The technology has gotten so much better you can shoot more weight with less stress on your body. The let off on some of the PSE and Elite bows is quite impressive. Find a bow shop and shoot a few of them and incorporate it into your decision. I would avoid the cross bow as long as possible. It's harder than it looks and for me just not the same. If you're going to spend the money consider all of your options.
I suspect you're a frugal guy like me and Kinda loyal to the one that brought you to this point and that really cool. But if you get the right bow you can shoot it another 15 years. Bow technology has made drastic improvements the last 5-8 years.
