Time: 4 p.m. ET
NFL teams must reduce their rosters to no more than 53 players by 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Aug. 29. During the offseason, each team is permitted to have up to 90 players on the active roster. That includes the preseason, which allows each team to field deep rosters for their three preseason contests.
Over a thousand players released at once.
In addition to the 53-man roster, NFL teams are permitted to carry a practice squad of up to 16 players.

Probably need to wait till cuts from other teams
Those backups are likely better than some of saints current backups
