As they should. Salvation is for sinners, the church has a responsibility to help shepherd them away from sin and into God’s will. There are many people that are legitimately blind to their sins.

Do Protestants in the Deep South really believe this, though? I think most of their churches are actually Calvinist, meaning that the "saved" are actually predetermined by God. They further believe that you can spot the "saved" by observing their lives. They are the successful, right-acting people.

Once I realized these facts, small rural Protestant churches made more sense to me. They basically think they're God's nobility, and the rest of us are heathens who deserve our lot in life merely because of who we were born as.

Southern Baptist is by far the largest non-catholic denomination in the South, but I find the more rural you get, the more Landmarkism becomes the dominate doctrine.

I’m sure some churches do but none that I’ve been to preach this. Focusing on predestination or predetermination isn’t something most southern Baptist churches focus on. It’s hard to grasp, easily misunderstood and divisive. SB churches focus a lot on the Great Commission, which gives us clear instructions to go out and make disciples. We can’t fulfill the GC by isolating ourselves proclaiming everyone else is going to hell.
